About us
The Westminster High School InvenTeam, known as LionStride, is a group of 11 student inventors participating in the MIT InvenTeams program. Made up of six freshmen and five juniors, all from the school´s advanced MERITS STEM program, the team combines fresh perspective with growing technical experience. Together, LionStride represents Westminster´s commitment to innovation, collaboration, and building solutions for a better future.
Our Mission
Nearly four in ten Americans live with a chronic condition that steadily harms their bodies. Diabetes is seen in more people with the rise of obesity in the coming decade. Up to half of individuals with diabetes develop diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN), a complication that can lead to diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs). These ulcers often start as small, unnoticed injuries and progress into serious, infected wounds due to loss of sensation. To address this critical health challenge, the Westminster High School InvenTeam is developing an innovative foot-health monitoring device designed to conveniently help patients detect issues early, prevent ulcer formation, and improve long-term outcomes.
